Our history

Gateway Reinsurance Brokers International Ltd.

Gateway Reinsurance Brokers International Ltd was incorporated in 2017 and commenced operations in 2018 after obtaining its trading licence in the Kingdom of Eswatini. The company provides reinsurance and insurance broking services across the non-life, life, and medical health sectors, while also offering alternative risk financing and enterprise-wide risk management solutions.

Since its establishment, Gateway has expanded its presence across Southern Africa through the establishment of regional subsidiaries and affiliates. In Mozambique, Gateway Companhia Corretora De Resseguros LDA received its trading licence from the Insurance Supervisory Institute of Mozambique (ISSM) and began operations on 1 June 2022. In Zambia, Flagstone Reinsurance Brokers International Pvt Ltd was licensed by the Pensions and Insurance Authority (PIA) in August 2024 and commenced operations in September 2024. Most recently, in Zimbabwe, Orbit Reinsurance Brokers International Pvt Ltd obtained its licence from the Insurance and Pensions Commission (IPEC) in April 2026 and started operations in May 2026.

Together, these entities are authorised to provide reinsurance broking services in the life, non-life, and health insurance sectors, while delivering risk management and alternative risk transfer solutions to clients at the local, regional, and international levels.
